Seinfeld is back (kind of…): Giddyup! Posted on Nov 21, 2009 The Seinfeld Reunion. Any big fan of the classic sitcom had dreamt about it since Seinfeld ended. It was 11 years ago. And I have to admit I was and still is a huge fan of Seinfeld. The best sitcom ever (and I watch many TV shows: Lost, Battlestar Galactica, Nip/Tuck, House M.D… Addicted!, The Big Bang Theory: Am I really that kind of Nerd?, Dexter and The Shield: bad is good). Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld managed to give us a big laugh on every single episode, even if I think the sitcom started to be really funny on saison 3. Since then, I watched every episode. I miss so much Jerry Seinfeld, George Costanza, Elaine Benes and Cosmo Kramer… And Newman, and Monk’s Cafe (well, Tom’s Restaurant)! So I was very exited when I read a few months ago the Seinfeld cast would appear in five episodes of HBO… Claude Lévi-Strauss: ‘Triste disparition’… Posted on Nov 7, 2009 Claude Lévi-Strauss has died last week, at 100. He was a renowned French anthropologist and ethnologist, and for many he revolutionized anthropology and sociology; his study of primitive tribes deeply modified the accepted view of primitive societies being inferior to the so-called civilized societies. Lévi-Strauss was a great thinker and an explorer, even if the work done by the often called “father of modern anthropology” is far from having unanimous support among his fellow colleagues. But everyone agrees on the fact that Claude Lévi-Strauss‘ studies had a huge impact on defining common patterns of behaviour and thought in all human societies. Others’ cultures are not so different from ‘ours’. And it is what has caught my attention when I started to get interest in Claude Lévi-Strauss writings.
