Sunday Roundup: Portal 2, Tim Hetherington, MOCA…

    Posted on Apr 24, 2011

Portal 2 is out! This game is awesome and I think I should write an entire blog post about it. Seriously. It’s clever and fun, even CNN says so! ‘The story is fantastic, and the writing and dialogue remain one of the cornerstones to this series. GLaDOS’s voice is dripping with sarcasm and malice even as her tone remains soothing and calm. Wheatley is silly, frantic and almost childlike [...] Overall, “Portal 2″ is a sublime game from start to finish, with humor, wit, intelligence and drama carried over from the debut title. The action remains fresh and original, and the dialogue spurs.’ Now go get Portal 2 and enjoy! Gaming, still. Bringing Digital Art To Your XMB. That’s what James Thorpe – PlayStation Network Product Manager announced on April 13th. ‘Showcasing the best in digital design, The Studio brings to PlayStation a collection of Static and Dynamic Themes for… READ MORE

Sunday Roundup: Godard, Pi, Revok, Jon Burgerman

    Posted on Apr 17, 2011

Last week I published my first ‘Sunday Roundup’ post, here comes the second one. The selection of news made by the Sama Team for their weekly Friday Digest on the Sama Gazette is always interesting and I would have also selected several of the articles they have chosen like Obama set to appoint America’s first special envoy to Burma, French ban on Islamic face veil comes into force or Japan ups nuke crisis severity to match Chernobyl. This week I decided to focus on ‘artistic’ topics. Jean-Luc Godard Meets Woody Allen. Open Culture ‘The best free cultural & educational media on the web’ published a video about Jean-Luc Godard meeting Woody Allen. Unexpected and yet very interesting. The posts says: ‘Filmed in 1986, Meetin’ WA is a short (26 minute) film that not many have seen. What you get is Godard, one of the driving forces behind La Nouvelle Vague,… READ MORE

Sunday Roundup: Graffiti, Congo, Sudan, J. Stiglitz, J. Silva

    Posted on Apr 10, 2011

Sunday Roundup. Everything is said, the title of this post is quite self-explanatory. I have been inspired by the Sama Gazette and their weekly Rendezvous Friday Digest. I think this is an interesting way to share with you the news that caught my attention and which are worth mentioning on this blog. This is my first #Sunday Roundup, I hope you will appreciate it!   ART #Graffiti is Art. No question about it. Cool Hunting posted an article about Martha Cooper’s exhibition at L.A.’s Carmichael Gallery: “Martha Cooper: Remix” (9 April 2011 – 7 May 2011). “A major part of the early graffiti scene, photojournalist Martha Cooper is now on the other end of lens as the focus of a new exhibition at L.A.’s Carmichael Gallery. “Martha Cooper: Remix” sees over 50 artists recreate their favorite images by the ever-present documentarian, including works by Lady Pink, Faust, Neck Face, Fumakaka… READ MORE
